Productive Things To Do On Your Day Off

Whether it's a sick day, a weekend, or a holiday -- sometimes having days can start to feel like a drag. Sitting on the couch and binge-watching seemingly every movie on Netflix can really turn somebody into an unproductive mess. Whether you are planning for a day-off or simply want to turn yours around, here are some productive tasks that will leave you feeling good about your day.

  • Read a book. If I've learned anything about successful people, it is that they read. A lot. Reading always leaves me feeling refreshed and is very fulfilling, rather than mindlessly watching whatever is on TV.

  • Have a spa day. Having spa days, or as I like to call them "self-care days", are a great way to rejuvenate yourself and will leave you feeling happy. Self-care is a very important skill, especially in this day and age, when people are told to put others before themselves. It's important to care for yourself and spa days are my favorite way to do this.

  • Learn a new language. Now, if we are being reasonable here, are you really going to become fluent in a foreign language in one afternoon? Of course not. But are you going to be able to teach yourself the basics and inspire yourself to continue learning? One hundred percent. Using YouTube videos and language apps, you will be able to do this with ease.

  • Clean! Being such a perfectionist, cleaning is one of my favorite productive tasks. There is something so rewarding about blasting my favorite playlist and making my home look like a Country Living magazine.

  • Start a journal. Journaling is one of those things that all of us know we should be doing, but few actually do. Everyone always tells me that it is too much work or that they wouldn't know where to start. In reality, journaling is one of the easiest tasks. When I got started when journalling, all I did was grab an old notebook and vented about my day.

  • Unsubscribe from all those unwanted emails. You can use an app like unroll.me to unsubscribe from any pesky emails you keep getting.

  • Watch a TED talk. There are about a million and one TED talks out there, and most of them are very interesting and useful. It's a productive task that you can do while still in bed!

  • Write a goals list for the rest of the year. Writing goals lists can really keep you on track and help you envision what you want in your life.

Using one of these productive tasks, I hope you can turn your day into a great one.  Tweet me your favorite task of this list!
